Ethereum Live Price
ETH/USDT with staking, gas and ETH/BTC context
Track Ethereum's live ETH/USDT price from Binance and see the network forces behind it: staking, fee burn, layer-2 activity and how ETH trades against Bitcoin.
Live Binance spot data · Free terminal · No signup needed
ETH is priced by both the market and the network.
Unlike Bitcoin, Ethereum's price is tied to how much its network is used: fees, staking and the activity of apps built on top. This page pairs the live ETH price with the on-chain context that explains it.

Price in dollars and in BTC
ETH can be flat in dollars while losing ground to Bitcoin. Checking the ETH/BTC ratio shows whether ETH is leading the market or lagging it.

| Launched | July 2015 |
| Consensus | Proof of stake since the Merge in September 2022 (previously proof of work) |
| Running a validator | 32 ETH per validator; pooled and liquid staking services allow smaller amounts |

| Fee burn | Since EIP-1559 (August 2021) the base fee of every transaction is burned |

What actually moves the Ethereum price
ETH responds to the same market forces as Bitcoin, plus several that come from how Ethereum itself works. These are the ones traders watch most.
Staking and liquid supply
Since the Merge, new ETH is paid to validators who lock up their coins. A large share of supply sits in staking, which reduces what is available to trade. Changes in the validator entry and exit queues are watched as a sign of how confident holders are in staking yield.
Fee burn and network activity
Under EIP-1559 part of every transaction fee is destroyed. When the network is busy, more ETH can be burned than is issued and supply shrinks; when activity is quiet, supply grows slowly. On-chain demand therefore feeds directly into ETH supply, which Bitcoin's fixed schedule does not do.
Layer 2s and upgrades
Most everyday activity has moved to rollups that pay Ethereum for security. Upgrades such as Dencun in March 2024 made that cheaper for users. The open debate is whether cheaper layer 2s add value to ETH through more usage or take value away by collecting fees themselves.
ETH/BTC and DeFi demand
ETH is the main collateral in decentralised finance and a base asset for many stablecoin and token markets. A rising ETH/BTC ratio usually points to appetite shifting toward smart-contract assets; a falling one means Bitcoin is leading. US spot ETH ETFs, trading since July 2024, add a second source of flow data.

Ethereum questions traders ask
What does gas mean on Ethereum, and why do fees change?
Gas measures the computing work a transaction needs, and fees are quoted in gwei per unit of gas. Fees rise when many people compete for limited block space and fall when the network is quiet. Much routine activity now happens on layer 2s, where fees are usually lower.
Is Ethereum deflationary?
Not by design. ETH has no hard supply cap. New ETH is issued to stakers while a portion of every fee is burned, so net supply can shrink in busy periods and grow slowly in quiet ones.
What was the Merge?
The Merge was Ethereum's switch from proof of work mining to proof of stake in September 2022. It ended mining on Ethereum and cut the issuance of new ETH substantially.
Why does ETH often move more than BTC?
ETH is a smaller market than Bitcoin and is treated as a higher-risk, higher-beta asset, so it tends to rise and fall by larger percentages in the same direction. The ETH/BTC ratio shows that gap directly.
Does CryptoBolt predict where ETH is headed?
No. CryptoBolt shows live ETH data, chart context and AI-assisted analysis based on current market conditions. It does not forecast price, and AI output should be read as research context, not a signal.
Can I practise trading ETH without risking money?
Yes. The paper trading simulator lets you trade ETH spot and futures with simulated funds on live prices, so you can test a strategy before using real money.
